Shalford Decorative and Fine Arts Society (Shalford DFAS) was formed in 1973 as the 56th society and meets in the Shalford Village Hall on the second Thursday of each month (with the exception of July and August). Lectures commence at 10:45am with coffee served from 10:15am to give members and friends the opportunity to socialise.
Recent topics have included "King George III: The Most Cultured Monarch" with Oliver Everett, "The Rothschilds of Waddesdon Manor" with William Forrester, "William Holman Hunt" with Prof. Michael Wheeler, to name but a few. Click here to view the 2012 lecture programme.
Several visits a year are arranged to galleries, museums and stately homes in London and within a 2 hour coach drive of Shalford. We use qualified guides and our aim is to enjoy a stimulating day out with company in a relaxed atmosphere. Click here to view the 2012 outings programme.
We have organised extended guided visits to venues in Norfolk, Cambridge and Dublin.
If you’d like to join us, or just come along for cup of coffee and listen to a lecture (£7), please telephone the Membership Secretary Mrs Angela Bray on 01438 424952.
